Snapchat stuck on Sending, How to fix?
If your snapchat is not sending, Below is a troubleshooting guide that will help you fix the issue.
Check if the person has unfriended you
If you see a gray arrow icon and ‘Pending…’ below a Snap you’ve sent, this usually means that your friend hasn’t added you yet or has blocked / Unfriended you. The pending notification would appear something like shown in the image below.
People often mistake this for Snapchat stuck on sending messages. To check if a person has unfriended you on Snapchat, check the article on How to tell if Someone Unfriended you on Snapchat.
Check your Network Connection
All applications on our device require a stable network connection to function. If the speed and quality of the internet connection are bad, it is possible applications will not work as expected.
If you are using the mobile network rather than the WIFI, then the speed is dependant on the network technologies available in the area. Speed may change as the signal varies, depending on the coverage area.
There are various tools available online to check the speed quality of your internet connection. If your speed is low, then that might be the cause of the Snapchat issue.
If you are having issues with WIFI, often restarting the wifi router helps. Restarting the router will reset connection settings and boot off unwanted devices from your network.
Clear Cache of Snapchat Application
Clearing the cache will get rid of all unwanted files that could be slowing down the App. By clearing the cache, you will not lose any data or pictures.
To clear the Snapchat cache follow below steps:
Step 1: Tap on the Snapchat application on your phone.
Step 2: Go to your Profile page.
Step 3: Tap on the Settings icon on your profile page.
Step 4. Scroll down and tap on Clear Cache.
Step 5: Tap on “Clear All” on iOS and “Continue” on Android.
Restart the application
You may be able to fix the issue if you force close and restart the application. It doesn’t mean that you need to uninstall the application. You will have to remove the app from the multitasking window.
The way the multitasking window appears varies from device to device. Make sure to clear the app from this window and then open the app again.
If you are using an Android device, you can force stop the App from the settings page and then reopen the App again.
Check if the Snapchat server is working
Many times the problem could be at the Snapchat side and nothing to do with our device or network connection. If Snapchat stuck on sending, it is a good idea to check if the Snapchat server is working or it is under maintenance.
To check the status of the Snapchat server, you could use the tool called “Downdetector.” When you open Downdetector, mention the service name as Snapchat. Downdetector will tell you if the Snapchat servers are down or not. If the server is down, then that might be the reason you’re not able to send messages.
Log out and Log back In
While logging out of an application, it will reset all application data. The issue could be due to a server-side account issue ( Like maybe your account details are out of date ), Logging out and logging back in will resolve this issue and you will be able to use Snapchat smoothly.
Turn airplane mode ON / OFF
If you are using cellular data to access Snapchat Application, sometimes you may face issues due to the mobile network. It is possible that your device has stopped picking up signals from a cellular network or you are out of coverage area.
Enabling flight mode will prevent your phone from communicating with cellular towers and also disconnect the phone from a WIFI network.
When you enable and disable fight mode, your phone will start searching for the network again. In case the network was previously lost, your phone will search for signals again and connect to them. This way, any issues caused by the cellular networks will be fixed, which in turn could help fix the Snapchat stuck on sending issue.
Restart your Phone
Restarting your phone would also prevent your phone from communicating with cellular towers, it would close all connections. Your phone will also disconnect from the WIFI network.
Once you start your phone back up, all connections would be re-established. It would help in resolving any network issues. All open applications will close, hence rebooting them.
Restarting your phone could fix Snapchat stuck on sending issue to some extent.
Delete and re-install Snapchat
When you delete Snapchat, it will sign you out and remove all App data as well as the application cache.
If you are worried that you may lose your Snapchat score or your chat history, then be assured that these things don’t get deleted or removed. Your pictures, Snapchat score, chats, followers will all be backed up by Snapchat and don’t get deleted.
One benefit of deleting and reinstalling the app would be that it removes all buggy files that are causing issues within Snapchat. Reinstalling will also ensure that Snapchat on your device is up to date with the latest version so that you don’t face any problems.
